Prior to founding RISC Management, Chris Heuman worked in healthcare organizations in an information systems and data security capacity for 22 years, advancing from systems and network administration to project management, infrastructure management and information security. As the Director of Engineering Services at mCurve, he developed consulting programs focused on information security and compliance with applicable laws and frameworks and was Practice Leader for Compliance and Security at ecfirst. Through his practical experience and certifications as a Certified HIPAA Professional (CHP), Certified Security Compliance Specialist (CSCS), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP), Chris is uniquely qualified to assist organizations in understanding and meeting the myriad compliance and security regulations and requirements they face.  Further leveraging these skills, Chris led the information security risk program for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee including internal risk, third party risk, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) programs.

As the Practice Leader at RISC Management, Chris helps clients with risk analysis, vulnerability assessment, business continuity management and planning, including education and training, project management, and consensus building at all organizational levels. Chris is a regular presenter at national conferences and events sponsored by healthcare, legal, and industrial organizations.

Brian McDonald
Director of Product Development, Mutare

Brian is the Director of Product Development at Mutare. He oversees the design, development, and implementation of Mutare’s innovative product portfolio for scores of Mutare customers, from government agencies and educational institutions to health care providers. Brian is also the Security Officer for Mutare. In that role he is responsible for company policies, technologies and training to assure all company operations adhere to rigorous data protection and privacy measures. Brian’s deep commitment to data security combined with his role in product development is reflected in Mutare’s focus on products that not only revolutionize business communications but also protect the integrity of the customer’s IT networks.

Brian brings more than 20 years of experience in information systems technology development and management to Mutare. Following graduation from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he was hired to the operations team where he has developed a strong reputation as a problem-solver and customer advocate. Brian has led post-sales installation and support for more than 500 software installations representing Mutare’s full line of solutions.

Brian enjoys immersing himself in the technical aspects of his role, and thrives working with his teams in development, IT, and operations.
