Notable Updates

Data Logging for Security Systems Integration

Mutare Voice Traffic Filter includes a new telemetry security tool that extracts, formats, and delivers logged voice channel data to the organization’s network security platform (e.g.SIEM). This new data set can be correlated with other network activity datapoints for enhanced visibility into network security vulnerabilities and emerging threats. Administrators can select
which data types to include from the following Voice Traffic Filter sources: Audit Log, Unwanted Calls, Wanted Calls, and Threat Radar detection.

Control Panel Redesign

Control Panel configuration tools are now accessible from a single page for one-stop oversight and management. From the new, reconfigured Control Panel, administrators can:

  • See current configuration settings for both incoming and outgoing traffic;
  • Change the order in which filtering layers are applied;
  • Commit multiple changes with a single Save.

The redesign also provides expanded STIR/SHAKEN controls, including:

  • Added filtering by P-Attestation-Indicator grades and selected actions;
  • Addition of a “Drop” option based on attestation score results.

The STIR/SHAKEN configuration page provides a one-click option that automatically configures behavior settings based on Mutare recommendations. Admins may still opt to enable and create customized configurations.

Most Attacked Numbers Added to Dashboard

The Admin Dashboard now includes a section listing the “most attacked” numbers (numbers that received the most unwanted calls) during a specified time period. This information helps IT management and security teams pinpoint areas or individuals that may be particularly susceptible to targeted attacks so that security awareness measures and resources can be aligned accordingly. Top Wanted/Unwanted calls are also displayed from a single frame. Admins change between Wanted and Unwanted view through selection buttons.

Other Updates

New “Traffic Filter Report User” Access Role

  • Administrators can now assign users to be Traffic Filter Report Users, which permits them to view the admin dashboard, call history and call summary pages. Unlike full administrators, access for these users is read-only, so they cannot add rules from call history or change column headers.

Improved Workflow for Custom Rules

  • New rules that match an existing rule will now overwrite the former rule to avoid duplication. In addition, the threshold for uploading numbers from a csv file has been expanded from 100 numbers to 10,000.

Call History Report Enhancements

  • Admins can change the column header name for custom column;
  • STIR/SHAKEN data, if available, is logged for every call;
  • Admins can export data in JSON format;
  • SIP Header popout now displays in monospace font.

Revised Audit Log Accessible Through Traffic Filter Menu

  • The audit log of all Mutare Voice activity, formerly accessed only from the Mutare Voice Administration menu, has now been added to the Voice Traffic Filter Administrator menu. Data related to Mutare Voice Call Completion updates for MWI devices has been removed from the log, while incidences of user lock-out have been added in.
